Today is the day that I made this site, not the first day of the mission. The first real post will not be for a few more weeks, after my first letter. I don't report to the MTC for a few more weeks, actually. Bookmark this site if you want to know what a Mormon missionary in Honolulu Hawaii goes through in two years!
I saw a pillar of light, exactly over my head, above the brightness of the sun, which descended gradually until it fell upon me.
It no sooner appeared than I found myself delivered from the enemy which held me bound. When the light rested upon me, I saw two personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name, and said, pointing to the other--This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!
-Joseph Smith-History 1:16-17

O God, where art thou? And where is the pavilion that covereth thy hiding place?...
My son, peace be unto thy soul; ...know thou, my son, that all these afflictions shall be but a small moment; ...know thou, my son, that all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good. The Son of Man hath descended below them all. Art thou greater than he?"

Some pictures of Hawaii and the missionary environment:
There are 11 areas on the Hawaiian islands. There are also 11 other islands out in the Pacific that the mission covers, like Midway and Wake islands.

Here is snow... in Hawaii... on Mauna Kea

And here are missionaries enjoying that snow

But in most places, Christmas is like this:

Thought you might like those. And here are some less comic pictures.
Here is the Hawaii temple.

Here is a shot of President Hinckly at the dedication.

Well, thats all for now, I guess. Hope you learned a little bit about the mission!
